Journals From the Jungle: Accelerated Reader

We will begin accelerated reader very soon after school starts. Your child will be able to check out a book from the library to take home. One of our assignments is that your child should read his/her library book EVERY night at least 3 times. Then when he/she arrives at school, he/she will take a test of usually 5 questions to check for comprehension and to earn points. As your child makes it to the 5 point club his/her name will be listed on the 5 point club. His/her name will move into the different clubs throughout the year. This program really helps with comprehension and fluency. Our first goal will be Christmas: I hope that everyone has at least 25 points! Let's work hard to read and achieve!
